Description
The specimen is the distal femur. There is a pale semi-lucent tumour mass situated in the lateral
condyle of the femur. This extends to the articular cartilage and infiltrates the metaphyseal
medullary space. In areas the tumour shows widespread cystic degeneration with associated
haemorrhage. The tumour occurred in a 61 year old female and on histologic examination was
shown to be a grade II chondrosarcoma.
